Alva Shipley, 85, of Ward, passed away November 3, 2021.
He was born March 13, 1936, in Hico, Texas, to Almon and Neice Shipley. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Alma Marie Allen, and three siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Shipley; sister, Loneta Rodgers; three stepchildren and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married Margaret Cotton October 17, 2009. They lived, laughed, and loved till death do they part.
Al was a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired cook and carpet layer. He was also a member of Dayspring Baptist Church, American Legion, and Cabot Senior Citizen Center.
Al loved to play dominos, cards, and bingo. He also loved music, dancing, and would never turn down a new adventure.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dayspring Baptist Church in Ward. Services will be Monday, November 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
