of Little Rock, AR
April 26, 1987 - September 18, 2021
Phillip Tyler Williams, 34, of Little Rock, went to be with his 4-legged forever companion Taco Williams, September 18, 2021. He was born April 26, 1987, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Karen Williams and Floyd Vincent Williams. He graduated from Robinson High School in 2005. After high school, he went to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.
Tyler made friends easily with his infectious smile and sense of humor. He took pride in being a police officer. He felt his purpose was to protect and serve his community, and cherished the brotherhood of his fellow police officers in Cammack Village and LRPD.
He loved to be in the kitchen cooking and outside grilling. He took pride in the meals he created, and loved to cook for his friends and family. Lots of time was spent watching the Food Network Channel; his favorites being Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and Guy's Grocery Games. His favorite non-cooking TV shows were Supernatural, Ghost Adventures, and Ancient Aliens.
He loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed climbing Pinnacle Mountain with his dogs, hiking trails across the state, kayaking on the river, and wakeboarding on the lake with his Aunt Sharon.
Tyler loved lawn care and detailing cars. He was so talented and put 100 percent in every yard he mowed and every car he detailed. He never cut corners and made sure that his work was spotless. He was a perfectionist and liked organization.
He liked to build things for his loved ones. He built a raised flower bed out of his Papaw Bob's wooden trailer, a wooden rope swing in his backyard, and bird feeders for his mom and grandmother. He loved to make others happy with his creations (even though his art skills needed a little perfecting).
He had many hobbies and passions; golf and cycling to name a couple. He worked at Rebsamen Golf Course for 7 years and became an avid golfer. He loved being on the golf course with Jenny and their friends. He also loved riding fearlessly on mountain biking trails and being on his road bike making the Two Rivers loop.
He loved coffee, fruit punch, Sour Patch Kids, sour gummy worms, and all things hot sauce. Nothing was too sour or too spicy for him.
He was a faithful Arkansas Razorbacks fan and New York Yankees fan. Football and baseball were both big parts of his life growing up and he loved to watch both of his teams whether they were winning or losing.
Tyler's favorite holidays were Halloween and Thanksgiving. No movie was too scary for him. In fact, he was laughing most of the time while Jenny covered her eyes and screamed. Thanksgiving food was his favorite. "Gravy all over" was his motto. He usually made extra gravy just in case there wasn't enough. The deviled eggs didn't stand a chance either between him and Robert. Christmas is Jenny's favorite holiday and he loved to spoil her with extravagant decorations and lights. He took pride in having the best decorated house, for Halloween and Christmas. He would drive around his neighborhood making sure theirs looked the best. He wanted lights all over the house, trees, and yard.
He loved to read books, his favorite series being the Hunger Games and The Game of Thrones. He was so knowledgeable in history and loved to read about pirates and World War I and II. You could ask him anything about history and he would know the answer.
He loved animals and was an amazing dog dad. His dog, Taco, was his world and best bud. Taco never left Tyler's side when they were together. They both loved each other so much. He was also the proud dog dad to Cooper and Jeter (named after Derek Jeter from his beloved Yankees). He loved them, but we know they loved him more.
He was preceded in death by his beloved companion, Taco; grandfathers, Floyd Olis Williams & Robert Stokes Dyer. Tyler is survived by his former wife, Jennifer Welch; mother, Karen and her husband, Robert; father, Floyd Vincent Williams; grandmothers, Shirley Williams and Shirley Nettles and her husband Jim; aunts, Sharon Dyer and Twila Bird; cousin, Heather Landers and her husband Chris.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Tyler's name to Little Rock Humane Society, Cosmopolitan Foundation PO Box 7426 LR AR 72217 or any other drug/alcohol treatment charity.
Visitation will be held from 5:30-7 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the chapel of Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, with a Celebration of Life staring at 7 pm. The family request that everyone wear their mask.

Chris and I send our love and prayers. Our memories of Tyler are many as the boys grew up, laughing, smiling competing, playing, and learning how not to do science experiments.
Our hearts are broken.

Karen,
I pray God's love brings calm to your despair. Tyler was such a bright light in our circle and I know he was and still is in yours. I know he will live on in our hearts and stories and has certainly made a big impact in the lives of many. What an impeccable human he was.

Karen,
My heart weeps with you. Please know you are in many prayers and that one day we all will be with our loved ones again.
Karen, I know your despair as you deal with the loss of the true love of your life. They don’t teach us how to live without our children, who we love with all our hearts and souls. I share your emptiness as you face a world without Tyler in it. Rest assured that Tyler will always be here with you, and that in Heaven, Albert was part of the welcoming party. We’ll all get through this together and you will definitely be with Tyler again one day. Love you more and more, OGF.
Dearest Karen. I love you. John got a message from the other of the three amigos from when they were little that let him know Tyler had passed. My heart is with you and I am holding you close.

Just know Tyler was loved by so many. You will never be able to get over this, but you will be able to get through it. Just keep all the memories alive, and a peace will eventually come.

Played golf with Tyler at Rebsamen while he was still in high school and working there during the summer. I left AR and came back several years later and was absolutely dumbfounded when this strapping young guy tapped me on the shoulder at a Travelers game and said, "Sir, do you remember me? It's Tyler." I almost cried that he'd remembered me. Told me he'd become a Little Rock Ploice officer. I am proud of the time we got to spend together at Rebsamen and even prouder that he was able to live his dream. RIP, Ty, you will be missed!
I never met you Tyler but heard lots about you from your loving Aunt Sharon. I know you will be greatly missed by all that knew you. Karen and Shared, I am so so sorry for your loss.
My whole family is heart broken at your unimaginable loss Karen. Tyler was a special young man and I always think of him with his beautiful brown, twinkling eyes. I am beyond sorry for your loss. My daily prayers will remember you and your family, and that precious Tyler!!! Love to you dear!!
Karen and family,
I am heartbroken that Tyler's life and light was too short. I found only acceptance from him -- a gift all too rare. I hope that as the days build upon the days his memory will bring you only joy and peace and happy recollection.
Karen. I am going to cherish all the good years and memories we were so blessed to share with Tyler. I am there in spirit hugging you tight! I love you. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
