My best memories of Stephen are laughing and debating the most mundane topics. I’m lucky to have him as my little brother and be his big sister. We could talk for hours about so many random funny topics. What I remember most is laughing with him.
The song that will forever remind me of Stephen and bring a tear to my eye is Pearl Jam’s “Just breathe.”
“I’m a little a lucky man to count on both hands the ones that i loved.”…. I’ll meet you on the other side.”
Stephen, I’ll meet you on the other side….my brother and my friend. I miss you beyond words. Until we meet again….
Steven was a friend of my son and daughter’s at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, TX. He was a wonderful, sweet, kind young man. He was very funny. I am so sorry to hear about his passing away. I wish prayers for his family.
One of my favorite memories of Stephen was watching David Letterman for the first time after a traumatic experience at the Durrett household (3 words-canary ceiling fan-I know the Bass family remembers this! I’m sure Mrs. Bass is still traumatized from the clean up!) He made Stephanie and I laugh so much and thought Letterman would help too. He popped in a VHS tape recording of his shows, as you did in the 80’s. He was right. Letterman STILL reminds me of Stephen (and that unfortunate day my canary met his fate). Being neighbors on Beechmont, the Basses are so engrained in my childhood memories. I’m so thankful Stephen was a part of it and will cherish all the fun times with him. Please know my heart is broken and I’m sending so much love to y’all from MN.
Stephen and I worked together at American Express Global Business Travel together. I am so sorry to hear of Stephen’s passing. He always put a smile on my face and made me laugh. Such a great person! He will be missed.
Stephen always made me laugh! I have so many good memories growing up with you and loved how our friendship had grown over the years. I loved our conversations and laughing with you! I can’t believe this is real. I miss you so much! I love you! Thanks for being the best big brother!
Stephen always stood for what was right. In work and with friends, his hard work and belief in doing the right thing, was foremost in his actions, words and thoughts.
Rest in peace Stephen.
Stephen, there are no words on how much I love you and miss you. My life is empty right now and my heart is broken. Thank you for the last 14 years of love, laughs and support you gave me. I love you!! ❤️ 😢
Stephen and I were work colleagues at American Express for 11 years. He always wore a smile and made me laugh. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. May you find peace and comfort with the lovely memories you will always cherish. May he rest in peace. God bless
Stephen and I shared the deepest friendship possible on this plane. I will miss our moments of listening to Rod Stewart together. I will miss the laughter. Oh, how I will miss the laughter. Our bond of brotherhood was so very strong, that I shall be reminded of you in finding humor in the most mundane task or the grandest moment of every day — watching the sun come up. As Rod would croon about his love of football “you’re in my heart, you’re in my soul” — because you my good man will live on in my heart, your family’s heart, Jackie’s heart and all those who had the good fortune to have had you in their lives.
Thinking of you and sending love and prayers to all the family.
The Bass and Puepke families have been friends for over 55 years! So sorry for Steven’s passing. My condolences and prayers are with the family.
