Danny O'Neal Vondran, age 75, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home. He was born March 22, 1946 in Marianna, Arkansas. He retired as a Production Manager for Norac Incorporated, served in the U.S. Navy where he was awarded three bronze stars, and a Deacon and member of Delta Fellowship Church in Helena. He was on the Board of Helena Country Club, Anchor Mission Ministries and Arkansas Golf Association. For years, Danny enjoyed coaching little league baseball. He was able to enjoy being retired and playing golf which was his passion.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Frances Jo Griffin Vondran; two daughters, Shanna Pryor (Donny) and Rhonda Vondran (Trey Jackson); step daughter, Lisa Robbins (Blake); step son, David Paul Hafer (Amy); 10 grandchildren, Tony Pryor (Shelby), Gracie Pryor, Luke Pryor, Landon Cravens (Destinee), Conner Cravens, Carson Robbins, Jeremiah Rolett, Bogan Robbins, Tri Robbins, Pearson Hafer and Evy Hafer; two great grandchildren, Averie Cravens and Creed Fowler; brother, Roland Vondran (Hannah Gidcomb); sister, Sandra Hall (Johnny); a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Connie Davis Vondran; parents, Lucille Walker Vondran Stallings and Curtis "Pete" Stallings; and one sister, Roseland Tutor.
A funeral service for Mr. Danny O'Neal Vondran will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Delta Fellowship Church in Helena. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Roller-Citizens chapel in West Helena. Interment to follow to Sunset Memorial Park. Brother Paul Husband will officiate. Guest speaker, Brother Mark Spencer.
Pallbearers are Wayne Anderson, Bill Abels, Bob Lee, Alan Lewis, Kenny Soper, Jack Hornor, Mike Fielder and Chuck Halbert.
Honorary pallbearers are Rick Campbell, Walter Simpson, Tyrone Stayton, Dr. Charlie Chu, Bud Oberle, Dale Chisnall, Eddie Calhoun, Roy Bridges, Larry Chism, Tommy Galloway, Rob Kendrick and all of his many golf partners.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anchor Mission Ministries Inc. at 802 MLK Dr., West Helena, Arkansas 72390.
