of Greenbrier, AR
August 6, 1935 - July 9, 2021
William Gould Mobbs, the beloved patriarch of the Mobbs family, passed away on July 9th, 2021. Bill passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in West Wooster, Arkansas. Born in Greenbrier, Arkansas on August 6th, 1935 he was just shy of his 86th birthday. Bill left this world as a loved and respected man, known by all for his generosity and integrity.
As a young man Bill displayed a strong work ethic that never left him. This was the foundation of his many successes in life. After graduating high school, but before turning 18, he left for Detroit hoping to break into the car manufacturing business. He applied with Chevrolet, but he conveniently left out his age, when they realized he was underage they sent him packing! This didn't deter him though, his love for cars and eagerness to work hard and play harder stuck with him for life. Through his younger years he worked the oil fields in Texas and had the opportunity to travel and work out in California. When he settled back in Conway, Arkansas he built a family and continued working hard to support his sons.
During this time, he worked as a plant manager at Chamberlin School Furniture and later transitioned to Universal Nolin working as a tool and die maker. He began working with his father at Arkansas Delivery Service. His natural entrepreneurial spirit led to significant growth for the company and eventually he transitioned ADS into Express Bus Company Inc. where he remained the founder and worked alongside his sons until his death. On lunch breaks you could typically find him at US Pizza Company with his sons and various other friends and family.
Bill had many hobbies and interests that led to lifelong friendships, successful business ventures, and traditions that will be passed on for years to come. Building relationships with others and bringing people together was at the forefront of every hobby and interest he cultivated. Bill's love for cold Miller Lite was no secret, he opened the bar Ton's Place in Morgan, Arkansas where he was always happy to sit and chat with whoever walked in the door. He established the Mobbs Deer Camp in the Ozark Mountains in the early 90s where you could find him cooking up fried deer meat and gravy for the camp members. The stories and traditions from camp are still being shared year after year up on the mountain. He had a strong love for dirt sprint car racing and founded Mobbs Motorsports where he built a racing family he adored and who adored him.
After meeting and falling in love with his wife Mary, they purchased some farmland in Wooster where they built a beautiful home and a successful cattle business. He and his wife are lifelong lovers of animals and their farm is still home to cattle, alpacas, goldendoodles, and one ornery llama.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary Mobbs, sons Steve Mobbs (Debbie), Mark Mobbs (Myra), and Phillip Scott Mobbs (Stacy), his grandsons Aaron Mobbs (Jennifer), Spencer Mobbs (Megan), and Billy Wallace, sister Pat Hennessy, great grandchildren, Keilee and Landon (Billy), and Baby Mobbs due in September (Spencer and Megan), and goldendoodles, Libby, Boo Boo, and Callie.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother Fathel McKaskle, and father Coy McKaskle, and half-sister Linda Williams.
A visitation will be held at 6pm on Monday, July 12th and the service will be at 10am on Tuesday, July 13th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Mobbs, Spencer Mobbs, Billy Wallace, Greg Fidler, Ken Smith and Gary Middleton.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the animal charity of your choice.

How well I remember Billy Gould Mobbs...having attended school with him for twelve years beginning in the little Wooster school house and moving on to the high school in Greenbrier, graduating in 1953. I remember him as a fun, kind person who shared classes with me. In high school I can just hear the teachers calling the role, with Mallett, McKay, Miller, Mobbs....I have not seen him since our 50th high school reunion. The family has my condolences. Rest in peace, Billy.
Bill will be greatly missed. Each one of you will be in our thoughts and prayers for the months to come.
We love you guys!

So very sorry for your loss. Keeping family and friends in my prayers.
I joined Bill and his family in the latter part of his life as his wife Mary’s, brother-in-law. Mary’s sister Linda and I immediately knew that Bill would be a good husband for Mary, as he was kind, faithful and a strong and loving family man—- he would not only be her loving husband, but the solid rock their marriage would be built on.
Bill was loved and revered by his family and friends as fun loving and always ready with a joke and a laugh (or a party), but also a hard worker and a good provider.
Enjoy your reward and your rest now Bill; you’ve earned it. We love you Bill.
Bill was a great man and great friend. This world has truly lost a gem. Thank you Bill for all the blessings that you bestowed on us. May you Rest In Peace, my friend, you have earned it.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I enjoyed working for Bill and Mark. He always told me there was a cold beer in the garage if I got thirsty. He will be missed by all.
