Tyler Wesley HatchI am a Veteran.

of Batesville, AR

February 10, 1965 - June 26, 2021

Tyler Hatch, a proud veteran of the United States Army Infantry, passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2021. Tyler was born February 10, 1965 in Mesa, Arizona. He moved with his Dad and brother to Arkansas in 1976 and attended Cave City School and later graduated from Salem High School in 1983. He attended both Arkansas College (Lyon College) in Batesville, AR and the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.

At the age of 21, MSG Tyler Wesley Hatch enlisted as an Infantryman in A Co, 2-153rd Infantry, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas in the fall of 1986. MSG Hatch graduated from the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course and was a graduate of Officer Candidate School Class 31 in July of 1988. Additionally, he attended the Jungle Warfare School in Fort Sherman Panama and was Certified a Jungle Warfare Expert upon graduation. He also was Certified as an Urban Warfare Expert in 1992. MSG Hatch chose to remain an enlisted Soldier upon completion of OCS and transferred back to Alpha Company. MSG Hatch served in several key leadership positions to include Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant and as Acting First Sergeant during his deployment to Iraq in 2003-2005. MSG Hatch was hired as an Active Guard Reserve Soldier working as an instructor for the 233rd Regional Training Institute where he excelled as instructor for the Infantry Military Occupational Skills Qualification Course, the Non-Commissioned Officer Courses and as a guest Tactics and Land Navigation Instructor for the Officer Candidate School. MSG Hatch deployed twice in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His first deployment was immediately following ''911'' when the 2-153rd GUNSLINGERS were deployed to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt in support of the Multi-National Forces Observer Mission. His second deployment was also with 2-153rd GUNSLINGERS as part of the 39th Infantry Brigade in Iraq. Their mission was to conduct patrolling, security and interdiction missions in and around the Camp Taji area of operations.

His awards and badges include: the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement (2nd Award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Multi-National Force and Observers Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. And numerous other awards and decorations.

Retiring from the military in 2012, Tyler filled his time with family and friends, wagons, mules and horses. He knew something about everything and loved to sit and talk about it all. Whether it was an antique horse bit he had found or the new horse farm that he and Mary were building. One thing is for sure, he had time for you no matter the need''¦.. no matter how small or big. His heart, smile and laugh will forever be remembered.

Tyler is survived by his partner and love of his life, Mary Power; two sons, Rayne Hatch (Amber Scheirer) of Scottsboro, AL and Peyton Hatch of Sherwood, AR; Mary's son, Blaine Turner of the home; his father, Wes Hatch of Bandera, TX and his brother Scott Hatch (Kathy Hatch) of Bandera, TX. He has one grandson, Wesley Jay Hatch of Scottsboro, AL. Tyler has three nieces, Julie Hatch (Ben Halloran) of Medicine Park, OK, Sara Chadek (Ryan Chadek) and Autumn Overton (Randy Overton) of Helotes, TX; and a host of other family and friends.

To my beloved fiancée Julie, Wes, Scott, Peyton, Raine, and Mary: my sincerest condolences for the loss of your family matriarch. In the short time I had to get to know Tyler, he encouraged me to be a man free of the fear of failure. I have never met someone as encouraging and enlightening as Hatch was. I firmly believe he had an integral part in helping me become part of your family, and for it I owe him everything. We talked often about roping and horses around the fire, as I am sure many other family and friends have before me. I pray that you all are able to find peace in this difficult time and encourage you all to lean on each other in times of need. His last bit of advice to me was to always make sure to give the ones you love a reason to wake up with a smile each day. He did just that for us all. Thank you, Hatch. Cheers until we meet again.

Tyler Hatch will be greatly missed as we truly loved him and the times we shared together! He was fun, funny, a great cook, and the list goes on! One of my favorite memories of Tyler is watching him play (and win every time) the rock game! No matter what you tried he would still win! I remember when we went to a fund raiser and that night we decided to steal the tailgate off of his truck because we were gonna hang it in our game room...he watched us do it from the balcony...ugh! That night he had an accident in that truck...called us and we went back to Batesville to get him...he rode home with us and his intact tailgate! We had to give the tailgate back so they could paint it to match the truck when it was rebuilt! We still have a jar in the window of our game room with his 99 money in it for the next time we play! We love and miss him so much! Mary, we love you too and are sending many prayers and hopes to you in this time of need! Rest In Peace friend!

Hatch was truly the best mentor I ever had. He taught me a lot of skills and the value of common sense. He had an extremely large impact on my life. I will never forget his crazy sayings. He was one of the few people I respected and wanted to be proud of me. Hatch was one of a kind and we will truly miss him. Until we meet again! Praying for your family.

Tyler was a wonderful friend although I have not seen him in almost twenty years. My heart aches so much for Peyton and Raine. I can clearly remember his homecoming from Egypt and how excited his boys were to have him home. My fondest memories of Tyler include he and my late husband, Andy, digging holes in my backyard for Tyler to make peach cobbler in his Dutch oven. I am so happy to hear he found you, Mary, and that you two shared many happy memories. May God provide you all peace and comfort in the days to come. My deepest sympathy.
