I am completely devastated and heart broken over the loss of one of my oldest, best friends. I first met Lance when his family lived over by White Rogers and he would come down the street and play with me at my babysitter Mrs. Katherine Rider's house. In third grade my Mother moved us to Quail Valley and I was excited to know that Lance lived on Gap Road so I immediately knew someone there before we even got fully moved in. From that moment on we were inseparable through grade school, intermediat, Jr. High and High School. Where you saw one of us, you were almost guaranteed to see the other. We've literally done everything together; carpool to school, eat lunch at school, fished, hijinks, roommates, wrote and recorded music together, and generally were just there for one another. In most recent years Lance's health deteriorated but he was fighting his way back to a better state of health. When last I spoke to him he had told me he was starting to mess around in his studio and was interested in collaborating together again. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Lance could literally pick up any instrument and make music magic with it. I will miss Lance's insights, his brilliant, musical genius, his idiosyncrasies, his laugh and ability to laugh at himself no matter the situation, his bull headedness, his loyalty, his sense of humor and most of all, his friendship. Lance was a beautiful soul who was taken way too soon. Until we meet again my fellow musician, writing partner, big brother, neighbor, classmate and oldest, best friend. I will love and miss you forever!!
