of Little Rock, AR
August 8, 1936 - June 3, 2021
On June 3, 2021, our precious and beautiful mother, Edith Kathleen ''Pat'' Sugg, 84, left our arms and entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Pat was born in McCrory, Arkansas, on August 8, 1936. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and Memmie. Pat was a godly woman who faithfully read her Bible, reading it through many times, and she loved her church, the Little Rock Church of God, which she attended for over 40 years. She was a great cook, and she and Daddy gardened for many years. Their home was always beautifully decorated, especially during Christmas, her favorite holiday. She insisted on buying gifts for all of us, every year. Words cannot describe how much we miss her. We love her so very much!
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, 1stSgt. Marcus S. Sugg, Sr., USMC (ret.); granddaughter, Cathy Lynette Yarberry; parents, Robert and Lewie Curtis; two brothers, Robert and Charles; five sisters, Dorothy, Flora, Mary, Tuge, and Opal; and her sweet dog, Puppy.
Pat is survived by one sister, Lewie Belle Fowler; two daughters, Patsy Chandler (Jim) and Kathy Yarberry (James); and one son, Marcus S. Sugg, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Yarberry (Marliisa), Kristi Holland (Dave), Jonathan Chandler (Delanie), Marcus ''Trey'' Sugg, III (Becca), Kristina Johnson (Ivan), Thomas Chandler, and Allison Sugg; one great granddaughter, Grace Lynn Holland; and, arriving soon, one great grandson, Elijah David Sugg.
Pat's visitation will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home at 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas. Her funeral service will follow on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., also in the chapel.
Please share your memories of Pat at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
Condolences to the entire Sugg/ Chandler/Yarberry family.
Forever in our hearts; Sister Sugg, will be missed, dearly.
She didn’t speak with boldness; but, with a quietness filled with love. Her words of encouragement and guidance will forever be with me. She lived a Godly example!
I will forever cherish my fond memories of her & Brother Marcus Sugg. Both were wonderful “Godly examplesâ€.
They both will be deeply missed; but never forgotten.
Sending big hugs, much love & continued prayers of comfort and peace in the days ahead.
So sorry to hear about your mother Marcus. She sounds like a wonderful person. You and your family are in our prayers.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Praying our God will bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time and give you strength for the days ahead. I will never forget Pat. We became friends right away when I started attending the Little Rock Church of God in 1991. She would always smile, give me a hug and tell me she loved me. I can still feel those hugs, see that smile and hear her say "I love you." We had many conversations either in the foyer or the parking lot of the church. A lot of times she, myself and Carol were the last to leave the parking lot. Most of those conversations was about our families. She was so proud of her family and loved each and everyone of them with all that was in her. It's hard to believe in all that time we never disagreed or argued except one thing. I'd ask her about going out for lunch and she would say "we'll go to Taco Bell and get my Pepsi and my one taco." LOL I would say "no I want to take you for a nice lunch." But she would always say Taco Bell for her Pepsi and one taco. I so wish we could have had that date, but things never worked out that we could do that. Pat was a very sweet, kind and loving, praying, Godly woman. If you ever met her you'd never forgot her. She will be missed by so many. Sending prayers and keeping you in my thoughts. I love the Sugg family.
May God give you peace during your time of loss.
