Hazel Verniece Wehunt, 93, passed away on June 1, 2021. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas on September 13, 1927.
She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James B. Wehunt; her parents, William and Lillian Holland; two brothers, Melvin and Gilbert Holland; three sisters, Ruby Holland, Ovean Chunn and Dorothy Dial.
Survivors include one son, James (Connie) of Cabot, Arkansas; two daughters, Beatrice (Tony) Sharpton of Copan, Oklahoma; Linda Wehunt of North Little Rock, Arkansas; six children she called adopted grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Harvey; Cassidy Ely Lawler, Ryan Ely, Chloe and Callie Tatum.
In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, traveling, sewing and teaching Sunday School to primary department boys and girl. In the later years, her enjoyment became adult coloring books and granddogs.
If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Faith Baptist Church ''Faith for the Future'' fund.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 7, at 11:00 A.M., at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
A graveside service will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
