October 4, 1935 - May 28, 2021

Dorothy Jean Zirkle was born October 4, 1935, in Truman, AR. and died Friday, May 28, 2021, in West Memphis, AR as the age of 85. She was a graduate of Parkin High School in Parkin AR. Dorothy was also a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Quota Club of West Memphis, West Memphis Chamber of Commerce Diplomat, and volunteered with many local government elections.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Dorothy was dedicated to her faith and her family. Her favorite times were with her family. She was loving, determined, selfless, gracious, compassionate, encouraging, and her smile and beautiful silver locks of hair would light up a room. She loved shopping, traveling, dancing with Robert, and praise and worship on Sunday mornings. She would always be found at her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughters' extracurricular activities always cheering them on. In retirement, she enjoyed special times with her great grandchildren. She loved sports especially basketball and football and was always cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Zirkle Forbes, and son-in-law Charles Forbes; granddaughter, Jennifer Gitchell Nelson, and Robert Michael Nelson; 2 great granddaughters, Annabeth Nichole Nelson, and Abigail Grace Nelson; 2 sisters, Laquita Smith and Brenda Turner. I am so saddened to hear of Dot's passing. Loved visiting with her when we came to town. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. She had the most precious smile and that gorgeous hair of hers. What a reunion she is having with family and friends upstairs. I think mom, dad and Bobby are all dancing and having a great time now that she has joined them. Prayers to all in this sad time but I think Dot would want all to celebrate rather than mourn her passing. Until we meet again. Hugs.

Mrs Zirkle was a sweet soul. We always enjoyed our visits.
she is reunited with her loving husband who she has missed dearly. Mrs Zirkle always made sure her hair and nails were beautiful. She made it her business to make sure to water my plants. So sorry for your loss Patty & Jennifer..
