August 6, 1949 - May 17, 2021
Roger McDaniel, 71, of Marche (NLR), went to his Savior in the early morning, May 17th, 2021.
He was born August 6, 1949, to the late Melba Ruth and Richard McDaniel.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked as a Project Coordinator for Post Engineers at Camp Robinson. He worked tirelessly and fought for fair treatment for all he supervised. He was an extremely hard worker, always working in his shop or helping friends and family fix things. He could build or fix absolutely anything.
He had a wonderful personality, and he never met a stranger. He was well known for his ability to tell a story and he never ran out of them.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years, Sandra McDaniel; son, Roger McDaniel II (Carol); two daughters, Delaine and Mindy Box; brothers, Richard McDaniel of St. Joe, Missouri, Tracy McDaniel (Marche) and late brother Tony Joe McDaniel; grandsons, Justin Fox (Danielle), Cole McDaniel (Mayzie), Jon Edmisten; and granddaughter, Annie McDaniel.
Funeral services will be held at Morgan Full Gospel Church on Friday, May 21, at 10:00 A.M.
Praying for the family.
Oh my goodness. Roger, Tony and Dickie were my most dear friends growing up around Oak Grove. Melba and Richard were my mom and dad’s dearest friends. I will always cherish one Christmas .Eve when me, my brother and sister were visiting the McDaniels and us kids swore we saw Santa.
I remember eating peanuts that Mr. McDaniel grew. I remember when us kids stole cookies from their next door neighbor. Melba spanked us. Then Roger and I got in trouble for trying to swim in our pond. Melba and my mom spanked us.
I remember when Roger, Tony, Dickie and I walked home the five miles from Oak
Grove Elementary to our homes on the last day of school.
Thank you Roger for being my kid friend.
When God made Roger McDaniel, he threw away the mold! Roger loved his God, his family and his friends. If you were one of them, you are very fortunate. I was blessed to be his friend for many years and his death has left a void that cannot be filled! My deepest condolences to Sandra and the family. "

I can’t even express how much this grieves me. Roger was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. He was a great friend and his opinion was always important to me. Roger was the kind of friend you never had to wonder if you truly were a friend, because he was the same every time. Sandra you were the true love of his life. We all knew this way back in high school. Fly high Roger until we meet again.
Love Kathy
