Joyce R. Walker

of Caulfield, MO

May 1, 2021

Mrs. Joyce R. Walker, age 81, of Caulfield, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri with her loving family by her side. She was born to parents Grant and Alice (Maitrejean) Rothhammer on July 20, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joyce was an avid gardener who grew everything from flowers to vegetables. She loved making quilts and sewing in the winter when she could not be in her precious garden. She was a fun-loving, bright woman who enjoyed every moment she could with her family. There were no strangers in her world. To know her was to love her, and she repaid that love with hugs and friendship. She loved going to church and singing loud and proud while she praised Jesus. She found her strength in the Lord and there is no doubt that she is with Him now, singing and praising His name. Joyce is deeply loved and will be forever missed.
She is survived by her husband of almost 6 years, Bobby Walker; two sons, Danny Rowe of Mountain Home, AR and Dexter Rowe of Bakersfield, MO; one daughter, Debra (Corky) Houghton of Clinton, MS; one stepdaughter, Regeana (Tim) Baughman of Mountain Home, AR; six granddaughters, Emily (Michael) Anderson, Rebekah Rowe, Leah Rowe, Hannah Decker, Haley Houghton, and Kelsey Houghton; four grandsons, Uriah Rowe, Chase Houghton, Jonathan Roy, and Jesse Roy; one brother, Grant ''Buzz'' Rothhammer of California; four sisters all of Oklahoma, Stella Williams, Alice ''Toady'' (Pete) Price, Margie Beach, and Carol Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and lastly, too many to count ''adopted'' children, because everyone Joyce met she claimed to be hers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Ansel Reasons; three brothers Grant ''Buddy'' Rothhammer, Alvin Rothhammer and Glen Rothhammer; and two sisters, Melva Milligan, and Wanda Chamblee.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bob Miller officiating. An interment will be held on May 15, 2021 at Ochwilla Cemetery in Melrose, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals.

It was with shock and sadness that I learned of Joyce's passing. I have known her for more years than I can count. We met back in her real estate years, a lifetime ago. My yard has many plants that she shared from her gardens that make me think of her every time I see them. Sending hugs and love to all who knew her and grieve for her now. May your memories help you thru this difficult time.

Joyce was such a sweet person. We met her 21 almost 22 yrs ago when we moved to the area. She was a joy to work with when we purchased our house. She gave us a cookbook that her church put together. I still have it and use it very often and think of her when I do. She loved her family and friends very much. Prayers for her family and friends.
