James Wallace Berry, age 75, of Omaha, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at his residence. He was born September 9, 1945, in Harrison, the son of JB and Bama Jean (Curtis) Berry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Mike and Carl Berry.
Jim was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was formerly in the Army Reserves. He was a heavy machine operator and he enjoyed roping, leatherwork, and was a storyteller extraordinaire. He was a cowboy who loved spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rhonda Olson Berry, of the home; his daughter, Carlotta Kim Berry Mattox and her husband Travis; his grandsons, Gunner Cole and Garrett James Mattox; his sister, Suzy Samsel; and his nieces and nephew, Tanya, Larry Carl and Dee.
Funeral service was Saturday, May 1, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha, Arkansas with Pastor Gene France officiating. Visitation will be 1:30-2:00 pm Saturday at the church. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Arnold, David Arnold, Jim Pierce, Charles Dixon, Cole Williamson, Austin Williamson
Honorary pallbearers were ''Special Friend'' Calvin Taylor, Russell Cobb, Jimmy Darrell Dixon, Joe Ellis, Gregg Barnes, and Brad Stacy
So Sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. We will always remember all the good times we have had. Rhonda you and Family is in my prayers. God Bless you all.

I considered Jim a good friend. I work at Miller Hardware...our visits through the years were always very enjoyable. I'm so very sorry for your loss!! He will be missed.

I still have a beautiful tooled leather bracelet Jim made. When I see it or pull it out to wear, I will always remember the all of the good times we had listening to his stories at ballgames! So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We have good memories of Jim and Rhonda. They were our neighbors when we were first married. They were our first guest showing up with Cokes, chips and a deck of cards that became a weekly ritual for the next year. Sending our love and prayers, Rhonda and family.
