August 21, 1981 - April 11, 2021
Michael Charles Faulkner, born August 21, 1981, in Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at the age of 39, in Harrison. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Chuck Sarja, and his grandmother, Tammy Bernowski.
Michael is survived by his wife, La Dawnya Faulkner, of Bentonville, Arkansas; his daughter, Rosetta Cossey, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his father and step-mother, Michael and Laura Gwatney, of Harrison; his mother, Deborah Sarja, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and his sister, Elizabeth Kay Faulkner, of Fayetteville.
Michael served in the Arkansas National Guard and the United States Army from 2001-2017 as a combat engineer. He was deployed to Iraq with the Arkansas National Guard. He also served two deployments in Afghanistan, one with the 23rd EN out of JBER, Alaska, and with one with the 55th MAC out of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Michael was a highly decorated soldier for his service, bravery, leadership, guidance, and more.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, 23 April 2021, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Camp Jack under Michael's name would be appreciated.
