Ida Mae Schrand, age 95 of Marshall, Arkansas went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at her home. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on February 24th, 1926 to Ulysses S. Blackwood and Sarah O. McKinney Blackwood.
She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Ida had a heart for the Lord. She enjoyed singing and being around people. Family was very important to her and she loved them all dearly. Ida enjoyed being outside and liked working in her flowers and garden. She also loved traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Martin Cossey and wife Lesley of Elm Springs and Stevie Cossey of Prairie Grove; one daughter, Karen Ragland of Marshall; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Sarah Blackwood; three brothers, Clifton Blackwood, Clifford Blackwood and Clayton Blackwood; two sons, James Edwin Cossey and Ray Gene Cossey; and one grandchild, Melissa Lee Cossey.
Funeral services for Ida Mae will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Darin Holliman officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Friends and family will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Martin Cossey and Steve Cossey. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Such fond memories of Ida Mae helping us to establish the East Lawn Freewill Baptist Church. She was definitely a worker for the Lord! She, Rick, & Obeta made numerous baskets to raise money for the upbuilding of the church & fellowship hall! Thkful for our memories! I’m sure Ibeta was excited to see her walk thro those pearly gates! Love & prayers of comfort to all the family!
