Bennie Ray Drewry

of Witts Springs, AR

October 7, 1943 - March 31, 2021

Bennie Ray Drewry, age 77 of Witts Springs, Arkansas died on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born at home in Magic Springs, Arkansas on October 7th, 1943 to Boyd Lawrence Drewry and Sibyl Walter Christian Drewry.

Bennie was the cornerstone of his family and a pillar of the community. He was always there to lend a hand and tease you to keep you humble. He was a kind, smart man that could fix anything and someone you could always count on. He spent 40 years in construction and rarely missed one of his girls' ballgames after a long days work. He was a proud Mason and was baptized in the name of our Lord. He loved caring for his cows, baling his hay, helping out with community events and just running around visiting. People all over Arkansas knew him as Pappie.

Bennie was a loving husband to his wife, Linda Williams Drewry for 57 years, who he is survived by. He was a devoted father to two daughters, Tina Davis and husband Walt of Perryville and Teresa Bell and husband Greg of Witts Springs. He was the best Pappie to three granddaughters, Laticia Rainwater and husband Chad of Charleston, Callie Baldridge and husband Aaron of Quitman and Shelby Bell of Little Rock. Bennie is survived by three precious great-grandboys who he couldn't get enough of, Kortland Baldridge, Hudson Rainwater and Cayden Rainwater. He is also survived by his siblings, who he loved fiercely, Rick (Marge) Drewry of Western Grove, Dennis (Shirley) Drewry of Witts Springs, Norma Harkness of New Blaine, Millie (Millis) Jones of Alpena, Rose McCracken of Harrison and Lena (Royce) Jones of Harrison; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Sibyl Drewry; siblings, Charlie L. Drewry and Mary Noble Drewry Reynolds; and nephews, Charles Harmon and Richie Drewry.

Funeral services for Bennie will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jim Arnold Jr. officiating. Special music will be performed by Bro. Jim and Sis. Diane. Visitation will be 12:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Witts Springs Cemetery where Bennie will be laid to rest with Masonic honors. Bearers will be Kim Loftin, Brad Taylor, Matt Loftin, Shawn Casto, Bill Watson, James Jones and Danny Casto. Honorary bearers will be Witts Springs Masonic Lodge #603.

Linda and family, I was so sad to hear about your loss. Benny was so friendly to all of us at the bank and always sharing that great smile. He was certainly always a pleasure to be around. I remember our last day there and how Benny and Linda both came in and wished us all a good retirement and how they would miss us. Well I can tell you Benny will certainly be missed by all who knew him. A great friend to many! Prayers for the family.

Thank you so much for all the happy times that Ricky spent staying in your yard while he was turkey hunting. He hasn’t been able to come in the last few years because of his own health problems but he enjoyed talking to you every year about it. Your friendship was important to us and you will be greatly missed by us. I’m sure you are looking for turkeys for now in heaven.
