May 6, 1916 - July 9, 2019

Vasca Lorene Westbrook, 103 of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019. She was born May 6, 1916 in Traskwood, Arkansas to the late William and Dixie Mills. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Westbrook; twin brother, Van E. Mills; four sisters; grandson, Mark Koonce; and great-grandson, James Davis.

At age 101 Vasca was selected to represent Encore Nursing & Rehab in a district pageant. She placed 1st runner up in the state pageant. She was an accomplished seamstress and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was very active in civic organizations and taught Sunday School for 40 years. Vasca was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, and Geyer Springs Baptist church during her lifetime, and was a Past Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son, James G. Westbrook Jr. of Milton, Kansas; four daughters, Dixie J. Smith of Benton, Arkansas, Jayme (Russ) Story of Pipperton, Tennessee, Nell Westbrook (Norm) Cyman of Branson, Missouri and Joy (Mike) Miller of Russellville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two Great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (501-315-4047). A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 p.m. There will be a private burial before the evening service.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Encore Nursing & Rehab for the excellent and loving care their mother received.
