February 21, 1930 - September 3, 2011

Cdr. Bobby L. Stephens, MSC, USN, Ret. went to the ''Lord'' September 3, 2011. He was born 1930 in Pauls Valley, OK to the late Ona Perkins and R. L. Stephens.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Virginia Trindle of Bartlett, TN; son, Michael Ray (Connie) of Bartlett, TN; son, Robert Patrick, (Deborah) and grandson 2nd Lt. Andrew Stephens of Lilburn, GA; daughter, Cynthia Diane (Nick) Conner and grandsons, Blake, Kyle and Ryan of Olive Branch, MS; brother, Jerry Ray (Cleone) of Midland, TX; sister, Jayne Ellen (Ray) Edwards of Moore, OK and numerous other family members.

Cdr. Stephens spent 31.5 years in the Navy, as enlisted and commissioned officer earning many citations and awards while serving in the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a graduate of Jackson College, Honolulu HI and George Washington University in Washington D.C. Cdr, Stephens retired December 1980 from Naval Hospital, Millington, TN, as Adm Officer. Memorials may be sent to the Raleigh United Methodist Church Debt Retirement Fund, where he was very active on committees and teaching Men's Bible Class since 1980.

Visitation will be 9 am Thursday, September 8, 2011, with a 10 am service at Raleigh United Methodist Church, Powers Rd., Rev John Holt and Rev Roger Joseph presiding. A 1:30 pm burial to follow at West TN Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
