Gary Warren Patterson, Sr., 71, of Florence, Mississippi passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born in Helena, Arkansas on Sunday, April 25, 1954, to the late Odell Patterson and Ellen Gilbert Patterson.
Gary spent most of his working life as a saw filer, starting out at Chicago Mills in West Helena, Arkansas to finishing his career at Fry Lumber Company in Grenada, Mississippi. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and side by sides, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Florence, Mississippi.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Ellen Patterson; beloved wife, Donna Patterson; one brother, Donald Patterson, and one sister, Beverly Gilbert.
Left to cherish the memories of Gary Patterson, Sr. is his two sons, Gary Patterson, Jr. (Krystle Richardson) and Trevor Patterson; step daughter, Stacy Durham (Jay); grandchildren, Cassie Patterson, Ainsley Patterson, Rylee Barnett, Brantley Barnett, Bailee Barnett, Michael Coats (Lyndsey) and Drew Coats (William Ellett); four great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Patterson; three sisters, Shirley Harmon, Helen Craft (Bo), and Vickie Adams.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Harmon, Shaine Foley, Ronnie Wolfe, Troy Peppers, Jeremy Henson, Adam McDonald, Jay Durham, and Brantley Barnett.
A funeral service honoring the life of Gary Patterson, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother Arnie Ray Westerfield will officiate.

Such Great memories with Gary and Donna. Our volleyball days were filled with lots of Fun and Laughter mostly brought on by Gary. We all Loved him. I know your hearts are broken. May the Lord wrap his arms around you and give you comfort in the days ahead.
