of Harmon, AR
December 9, 1937 - March 19, 2026
Marcia Atkins Holt Roberts, 88, of Harmon, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Baxter Health in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born December 9, 1937, in Magazine, Arkansas, to John Marshall ''J.M.'' Atkins and Janelle Riley Atkins.
Marcia moved to Boone County as a young girl when her parents purchased a farm on the east side of the county. Life on the farm helped shape the steady, hardworking woman she became. She grew up helping with cattle, hogs, and the daily work that comes with farm life, even in the early years when the family had electricity but no running water and depended on a cistern well, ponds, and Clear Creek. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1955 and attended Draughon's Business College in Springfield, Missouri.
On December 31, 1955, she married Rebern Joe Holt, and together they raised their two sons on the farm. Over the years they continued to raise cattle, including registered Longhorns at one time, as well as registered Quarter Horses. They also built a greenhouse for raising plants, and their sons were active in Boone County 4-H. Marcia's lifelong devotion to agriculture was recognized when she received the Boone County Farm Bureau Senior Farmer Award in October 2021. Even later in life, she remained deeply involved in the care of the farm, checking cattle, overseeing daily operations, tending a large vegetable garden, and helping maintain a herd of Black Angus cattle alongside her son Marvin and his family.
She also retired from the Arkansas Highway Department, where she served as the District 9 bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rebern Joe Holt and Ted R. Roberts; her son, John Henry Holt; and her parents.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin Joe and Lisa Holt of Harmon; her granddaughter, Brittney See and her husband, Brian; her grandsons, Matthew Holt and his wife, Lauren, and Michael Holt and his wife, Kayce; her great-grandchildren, Reid and Reese Breedlove, Adelee, Katherine, Maggie, Donna, and Rowdy Holt, and baby See; her best friend, Judi Fontana; as well as several cousins and a multitude of friends.
Marcia will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to her family, and the faithful way she cared for her home, her land, and those around her. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Funeral Home, with Bro.
