Deacon James Robert ''Bob'' Crawford, 85, died in his home on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 3:09pm surrounded by his beloved wife and daughter after a short battle with Leukemia.
Bob was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1940 and attended the University of Florida (an avid Gator fan to the end!), majoring in accounting. He married a beautiful young nurse named Florence ''Flo'' Caroline Matthews from Ft. Myers, Florida, in 1963. She was to be his nurse to the end. They celebrated 62 years of marriage last summer and have four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
They moved to Texas in 1983, where he was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston in 1990. Bob and Flo retired to Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 2005, where he continued to serve as a deacon for parishioners at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church until his retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife, Flo, and his brother, John (wife, Sheridan), of Moneta, Virginia. Children include Michael (Sonya) of Vancouver, British Columbia and their children Kayla and Amika; Janette (Gary) of Baytown, Texas and their children Tamara and Matt; David (Sarah) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dean (Becky) of Irving, Texas and their children Thomas, Margaret (Sebastian), Sr. Maria Lillien osb, Mary Therese, Lucy, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Caroline.
A visitation will be held between 6:30-8:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:30pm on Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, followed by burial at Baxter Memorial Gardens.

I will miss your smile and humor. Thank you for your faithful service to our church. Helen

Our deepest condolences and prayers of peace and comfort to Dean and this beautiful family. What a great legacy Mr. Crawford is leaving behind that will surely live on in the many memories you all have created over the years.
God Bless You All!
