Joyce Betty King, 80, of Mountain View, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2026, in Mountain View, Arkansas. She was born on May 2, 1945, in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late John and Gusta (Gaylor) Whitfield. She grew up in the community she loved and remained deeply rooted there throughout her life.

Joyce married the love of her life, John King, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with devotion, laughter, and cherished memories. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Joyce was known for her warm heart, her steady presence, and her simple joys; and anyone who knew Joyce knew of her love for Dr Pepper. You would be hard pressed to find her without one in hand. That small but beloved pleasure became one of the many endearing traits that family and friends will always remember with a smile.

Joyce will be remembered for her kindness, her loyalty to those she loved, and the comfort she brought to family and friends simply by being herself. Her life was a quiet blessing to many, and her memory will be treasured always.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward and Gusta Emma (Gaylor) Whitfield; her beloved husband, John King; brothers, Brayden (Pete) Whitfield and Heulan Whitfield; sisters, Judy Nations, Nadine Amick, and Joy Sampson.

Joyce leaves behind her sons, Christopher Padleford and Dennis Padleford; granddaughter, Samantha; great grandchildren, Madalyn and Carter; brothers, Douglas Whitfield, Donald Whitfield and Johnal Whitfield; sisters, Imojean Edwards and Anna Jo Calkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
