Rebecca Clare Rider

of Plano, TX

October 5, 1981 - February 13, 2026

Rebecca Clare (Tanner) Rider, of Plano, Texas, was called home at the age of 44 to the loving arms of the Lord on February 13, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother. Born October 5, 1981, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she grew up alongside her brother and two sisters. In her youth, she was very active in extracurriculars such as dancing, sports, and participating in church activities. Rebecca graduated from Pulaski Academy in 2000, where she earned varsity letters for four years for both the Pom squad and basketball team. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 2004. While at Baylor she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority, participated annually in the SING program, played intramural sports, served as campus tour guide for prospective students, and made lifelong friendships. She later obtained a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Marymount University.

After graduating from Baylor, she began her professional life in Oceanside, California, working for Marine Family Services. Three years later she moved to Washington, D.C. and began her recruiting career at Marymount University, where she worked for three years before moving to Boston. After working two years at Tufts University, she then moved to New York City to continue her work as a recruiter with the international accounting firm Ernst & Young. After ten years with EY, part of the time in Dallas, she left to successfully run an independent business franchise in Plano. Throughout all these moves, she developed many friends and colleagues, encouraging them and spreading her warmth and love. She was admired and respected by her fellow workers from coast to coast.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Jane Marstiller of St. Louis and James and Billie Tanner of Little Rock. She is survived by her children, Makaela Grace Rider (10) and Daniel Scott Rider (7), of Plano; her parents, Marilyn and Liles Henry of Little Rock and James A. Tanner (Holly) of Punta Gorda, Florida; her siblings, James B. (Amy) Tanner of Orlando, Lauren Simmons and Rachel (Will) Moses of Little Rock; her nieces and nephews, James, Ethan, and Samantha of Orlando, and Austin, Ellie Clare, and Hadley of Little Rock. Rebecca is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins whom she adored.

Rebecca was an extraordinary person who cared deeply for her family, friends, and community. To those who had the privilege of knowing Rebecca, we will forever remember her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit. We certainly will never forget her "back to Becca" inside family joke.

She brightened the lives of all who knew her, and her unwavering faith in the Lord serves as an inspiration to us all. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us. However, her greatest accomplishment, and the role she cherished most, was being a mother to her two beautiful children, Makaela and Daniel. We say goodbye to a remarkable woman, a loving mother, a beloved daughter, a devoted sister, and a kind soul. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that is Rebecca. There will never be another Rebecca.

A private burial service for family will be provided by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home on Friday, March 6th at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at Fellowship Bible Church on Kirk Road in Little Rock on Saturday, March 7th , at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan's Purse.
