January 28, 1942 - February 23, 2026
Jerry D. Rose, 84, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at White River Medical Center on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born on January 28, 1942, to the late James B. Rose and Dorothy Campbell Rose. He graduated from Bruno High School in 1959 and attended Arkansas State Junior College at Beebe and later Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) on a basketball scholarship. He met his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Bradberry Rose at junior college in Beebe, and they were married on August 5, 1961. Following graduation from ASTC, he began a career in education that lasted 42 years. As his former player, J.D. Morgan told his family, ''the profound impact of his coaching and administrative legacy lives on in the lives he touched''. During his educational career he was a Marked Tree Indian, a Clinton Yellowjacket, a Batesville Pioneer, a Newark Kangaroo, and Sulphur Rock Wildcat.
Jerry loved the Lord and left a legacy of faith to his family. He also loved camping and being on the lake with his family, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks, watching his grandkids play sports, traveling in his motorhome, and being outside (usually mowing or washing cars).
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; his daughters Melanie (Theron) Isaacs of Ash Flat and Lindley (Jeff) Hagar of Sherwood; grandchildren Alexandra (Adam) Sanders of Farmington, Hope (Preston) Wiles of Beebe, Tate (Kaylee) Isaacs of Walnut Ridge, Justin (Haley) Hagar of Searcy, and Landon Hagar and Hayden Hagar both of Conway; great-grandchildren Audrey, Laney, Harper, Jase, Wrenley, and Peyton; siblings Pat (Carla) Rose of Conway, Judy (Randy) Noah of North Little Rock, and Jill (Matt) Turner of Gilmer, Texas; brother-in-law Raysel (Beth) Bradberry of Beebe; special cousins Patsy Bailey and Janette Pratt of Harrison; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
