With love and remembrance, we celebrate the life of Ingelore ''Inga'' Becker Abbott, age 75, who passed away on February 18, 2026, at the VA hospital in Memphis.
Inga was born on August 14, 1950, in Jemble, Germany, to Daniel and Sophie Becker. From her earliest days, she carried with her a strong spirit, deep devotion to family, and a spark that would remain with her throughout her life.
She proudly served the United States through the United States Army, a chapter of her life that reflected her strength, resilience, and commitment. Following her military service, she worked as a manager for Super D Pharmacy, where her leadership and dedication left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her.
Inga had a creative soul. She loved anything related to arts and crafts, from beautiful floral arrangements to sewing curtains by hand for her sister Pam. She found joy in creating things that made life warmer and more beautiful. She also loved shopping trips with her momma and friends, treasuring the laughter and memories they shared along the way.
Above all, Inga loved her family deeply. They were her pride and her heart. She was loyal, protective, and passionate, and yes, she carried a bit of that unmistakable German temper that made her all the more memorable and uniquely herself. Her strength, honesty, and fiery spirit were balanced by her generosity and devotion to the people she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Sophie Becker; her brother, John Becker; and her sister, Debbie Becker.
She leaves behind her best friend, Jeanette Shackelford (Terry), whom she called "Momma"; her brother, Shane Johnson (Carla); her sister, Pamela Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Inga's life was one of service, creativity, strength, and love. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the family she cherished so dearly.
