Ralph ''Sonny'' Waldo Wood Jr., 83, of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Born on August 26, 1942, in Gassville, Arkansas, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph Waldo Wood Sr. and Ruth (Nylund) Wood. A lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Flippin High School in 1960. Ralph dedicated many years of service to the Missouri Pacific Railroad, where he worked as a brakeman and conductor.

Ralph was a faithful member of Flippin First Baptist Church and the Yellville Masonic Lodge. He had a deep passion for firearms, reloading, shooting, and repairing guns. He also enjoyed fishing and treasured the time he spent with his family. Known for his easygoing nature, Sonny never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Monte (Tammy) Wood of Yellville, Arkansas; daughter, Tina Wood of Flippin, Arkansas; sister, Catherine Bloom; grandchildren, Ashley Wood, Savannah Southern, Tyler Smith, Rayndii Tolliver, and Tiger Tolliver; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, W.J. Wood, and sister, Betty Rose.

A visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller-Burns Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Flippin First Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Faulkenberry, Gregg Alexander, Rick Hurst, Michael Vines, Carl McBee, and Kelly Hancock. Honorary pallbearers will be George Keys, Jim Scanlon, Tony Hinz, Alvin Keeter, Tiger Tolliver, and James ''Hooker'' Pilgrim.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Services are under the care of Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.
