Byron Louis Robins of Greer's Ferry, AR. went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2026.
Byron was born in Jesup, AR. on August 17, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lowell (Jim) and Mollie Faye Robins and his beloved wife of 57 years, Wannetta Louise Cave Robins.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Leigh Ann Thorpe (Richard) of Midlothian,, TX., Andrea Lynn Steiger of Farview Heights, Il., Lisa Gaye Nichols (John) of Swansea, Il., Lanis Gail Robins (Michael) of Midlothian, TX. Five grandchildren, Melissa, Stefanie, Dawn, Nikkie, and Chris. Nine great grandchidren, Denise, Alyssa, Gavin, Lucas, McKenna, Karter, Kenzie, Loralie, and Rylei. Two sisters, Barbara Billions of Germantown, TN. and Martha Ruiz of Bear, DE. and 2 sisters-in-law, Patricia Robins and Janis Robins and several nephews and nieces.
Byron was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Lowell Robins and James David Robins, 2 brothers-in-law Gerald Billons and Joseph Ruiz.
Byron, a graduate of Dexter High School, Dexter, MO., attended Draughns Business College in Memphis, TN, before he served a 30 year career in the United States Air Force. Chief Master Seargeant Byron Robins, a Vietnam Veteran and Air Traffic Controller, served in many U. S. duty stations, as well as tours in Newfoundland, Korea,Vietnam,and Okinawa. Many deserving Honors, Medals and Awards were earned and bestowed upon Byron during his cherished career serving his country in the U.S.A.F. Upon retirement from the Air Force Byron and Wannetta moved to Absecon, N. J. where he was employed by the FAA Administration as an Air Traffic Control Tower Inspector at various locations.
A decision was made to conclude their adventurous life by retiring and moving to his beloved Arkansas. An avid golfer who participated in many tournaments, he continued to enjoy his golfing along with boating, woodworking, gardening, reading, family time, and watching the games of golf, football, baseball, basketball.
Byron loved his family and he was so loved and will be missed by so many. Rest in Heavenly Peace Chief Master Sergeant.
Visitation and Memorial Service at Roller Funeral Home Batesville, AR., 1:00 P.M. February 21, 2026. Graveside service following at Lancaster Cemetery, Strawberry, AR.
