August 24, 1934 - February 13, 2026
Mary Lee Nichols, 91, of West Memphis, passed peacefully on February 13, 2026, in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Born on August 24, 1934, in Union City, Mary was the beloved daughter of Willis Moss Staggs and Margaret Elizabeth Staggs (née Hartloff). From an early age, she carried the values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family that would define her beautiful life.
Mary was a loving mother to her children, Barry Nichols (Tina) and Sherry Riddle, and neighbor, caregiver and angel Candy Warhurst. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Zachary, Madison, Tori, and Jacob, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy, and her niece, Linda Reynolds, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lee Nichols, her parents, brother, John Marshall Staggs and her sister, Louise Staggs Ekenseair.
Her life was rooted in simple but meaningful pleasures. Mary loved tending to her flower gardens, where she found peace and happiness among the blooms she so carefully nurtured. She had a special gift in the kitchen, and her Christmas confections and holiday goodies became sweet traditions her family will forever treasure. Even up until recently, Mary could be found tending the horses, cows, and donkey on the family farm, a true reflection of her strength, determination, and enduring spirit. Mary was an active member of Quota International. She was a lifelong member of 1st Baptist church West Memphis, serving on the bereavement board, and taught Sunday classes for over 40 years. Her faith guided her life, and she quietly served others with kindness, grace, and compassion.
Above all, Mary's greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply, gave generously, and lived faithfully. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and steadfast love will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

A wonderful lady.
