Lonnie Clyde Hinkle, age 79 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Friday, February 6th, 2026 at his home. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on December 17th, 1946 to Clyde Monroe Hinkle and Tennie Lautricia Politte Hinkle. Lonnie married the love of his life, Shanna Rose Castleman on November 16th, 1968. He loved her until her last breath and until his last breath. They are now reunited in heaven.
Lonnie attended Marshall High School. He was drafted into the army during the Vietnam war at the age of 20. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Rifle Badge M-14 during his time of service. After serving his two years, he went to Phoenix, Arizona to do iron work. He returned to Marshall where he farmed cattle and worked at Branscum and Harness Mill for over 35 years. When he was younger, he loved to hunt and camp at the river. As he got older, he loved to trade knives and never passed up a yard sale. His favorite saying was ''Well Howdy, Howdy'', followed by a hug. Lonnie was a Searcy Count Icon and could be seen out and about all over town. He was a frequent patron of Harps Grocery and the Senior Center and loved to visit with those he ran into. His friendly smile and encouraging talks will be greatly missed by our community, his family and friends. Lonnie was strong in his Christian faith and studied the Word daily. He will always be remembered for helping others.
Survivors include his son, Tim Hinkle of Marshall; daughter, Jeannie Casto (Shawn) of Chimes; grandsons, Austin Beavers (Amber), Braden Hinkle (Kristen), Hunter Casto (Kelsey) and Tucker Casto (Rayya); great-grandkids, Owen, Oliver, Kaisley, Charlotte and another great-granddaughter due in June; and many extended family and good friends.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hinkle and Tennie Siebuhr; his wife of almost 38 years, Shanna Hinkle; siblings, Bobby Lee Hinkle and Geraldine Hinkle Littleton; and his lifelong friend, Ricky Hogue who passed away in 2024.
Graveside services for Lonnie will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 at Canaan Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. James Horton and Bro. David Branscum officiating. Bearers will be Austin Beavers, Braden Hinkle, Hunter Casto, Tucker Casto, Chris Blair and David Branscum. Following the service Lonnie will be laid to rest beside his precious wife, Shanna who passed away in 2006.

We are so so sorry to hear this just dont know what ill do now to not see him in town he ALWAYS wanted to know what was going on on the mountian an how many deer there were or he would want to trade chris a knife when chris worked with him years an years ago chris quickly became his buddy our son even has knifes from when he was a little boy that Hinkle gave him

Seems like I've known Lonnie all my life. I did get to know him better as the director of the senior center and enjoyed talking with him, dining with him and playing pitch. He was an encourager and I valued his advice and opinions. He will be greatly missed. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeannie and Tim, I'm very sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed our visits wherever we might meet up. I counted Lonnie as one of my true friends. Lonnie was a good man.

I am so sorry to hear the passage of Lonnie Clyde. We were classmates for 12years abd a very dear friend friend. He will be greatly missed. He was such a sweet loving person and he had such a big heart. He will be greatly missed it, saddens my heart to lose another classmate.
