Kathline Kiyoko Hughes, 92, of Poplar Grove, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mark and Nicky Savage. Mrs. Hughes was born on Monday, January 1, 1934, in Hiroshima, Japan.
She spent most of her years as a home maker and wife of an honored Naval Petty Officer. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her daughter, Nicole ''Nicky'' Savage and husband Mark of Poplar Grove; four grandchildren, Amanda Savage, Russell Savage, Ashley Savage, Haden and Cole Savage; host of great grandchildren; sister, Chiako Fukuoka; brother, Istwo Fujioka.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kaiichiro and Ichiko Fujioka; beloved husband, Willie E. Hughes; two sisters, Jacko Dawe and Yoshiko Yamasuchi.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Arnold, Brian Arnold, Jim Bond, Ian Dawson, Glen Gibson, and Trevor Wooten.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Arnold, Bob Wright, Joe Murphy, Jerry Hughes and Billy Joe Saeler.
A visitation for Mrs. Hughes will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow.
