of Welcome Home, AR
August 16, 1942 - January 16, 2026
Doyle Glenn Ragland,83, left this world on January 16th, 2026, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison, AR. He was born August 16th, 1942, in Welcome Home, AR to parents Floyd and Opal Berlene Bohannon Ragland. Those who knew him would say he was a man who loved God, served his country through his military service of 26 years including active military duty in Operation Desert Storm, cared for his family, and his community.
Doyle was a member and elder of the Welcome Home Church, part of the Welcome Home Volunteer Fire Department, retired sergeant/member of the 224th Maintenance Company of the National Guard Unit based out of Marshall, Quilt of Valor recipient, served as Justice of Peace, volunteered during elections, and was part of the Chinquapin Cemetery Board.
During his life he worked and worked hard blurring the lines on what retirement meant - logging, drywall, farming, baling hay, gardening, splitting firewood, making deals trading, and tinkering on the things he likely broke. He was always one to lend a hand, a tool, his time, or advice with only one stipulation - be fair and then bring back what you borrowed. No one could tell stories better, and he had a lot of them from his days of playing in the creek, coon hunting, driving the back roads, funny things that happened at work, cattle sales, or traveling with his guard buddies around the world. All of them began ''One time me and so in so…then ended with laughter even if it was the 10th time he had told the story.
Doyle married Daley Watts in November 1965; they enjoyed 55 years together before her passing in July 2021. Survivors include his daughter Gwen Myatt (James) of Harrison, and Ricky Ragland (Shana) of Mountain Home. His brothers Donald Ragland (Fredia), and Roy Ragland (Gail) both of Marshall. In the fall of 1990, Doyle was promoted to Grandpa. His grandchildren include Cory Ragland (Kristi), Shara Godfrey (Jeremiah), Brandan Ragland, Summer Ragland (Randall), Jordan Myatt, Skyler Ragland (Samantha), Ben Ragland, Katelin Ragland (Matthew), Carson Ragland, Noah Ragland, Ryder Ragland, and step grandchildren Danica Smith (Taylor) and Tyler Wyatt (Camry). The family tree grew bigger with the addition of thirty-four great grandchildren. Countless other extended family members, friends, and neighbors will celebrate the life he lived, and honor his legacy in their hearts.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, his wife, his sister Mildred Howell, his brother Gerald Ragland and his half-brother, Clovis Qualls.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Welcome Home Volunteer Fire Department or the Chinquapin Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the first responders, paramedics, Clinton Hospital ER, med flight team, Washington Regional NSICU, as well as Hospice of the Hills.
Funeral services for Doyle will be 1:30 PM Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at Welcome Home Church in Welcome Home, Arkansas with Bro. Roy Ragland and Ricky Ragland officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Burial will be in Chinquapin Cemetery near Welcome Home where Doyle will be laid to rest with military honors beside his wife Daley. Bearers will be grandsons, Cory Ragland, Brandan Ragland, Jordan Myatt, Skyler Ragland, Benjamin Ragland and Carson Ragland. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.

We will miss Doyle and the sound of his 4 wheeler coming up the driveway for his visits. We are honored to have known him and his love for the Lord was such an inspiration.

Doyle,
Go rest high on the mountain. We Love You and you will be greatly missed.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Revelation 21:4
