Roe Glen Akers, 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He believed the purpose of life was to ''Help your fellow man.'' ''A lot of people have trouble all the time and need help. If you are able to help them you should. It is important to put good back into the world. Most importantly be happy to help.''

He was born August 27, 1932, in Hamburg, Arkansas, to the late Joe Fletcher and Alma (McGaha) Akers. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Dean, Charles and twin brother Joe; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Akers.

Roe was a graduate of Hamburg High School and later the University of Arkansas, receiving his BSBA. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran, serving 4 years. He retired from the Arkansas Employment Security Division, where he was director of personnel and training. He was also a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock.

Mr. Akers is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helena (Ervin) Akers of Little Rock; his son, Paul Akers and wife Lori of Bryant, Arkansas; his grandson, Benton Akers of Bryant, Arkansas; granddaughters, Macie Barnes and husband Ben of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Mary Morton of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Marley and Maxine Morton; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Phillips and husband Drew of Little Rock, Arkansas; Judy Akers of Benton, Arkansas, Peggy Akers of Hamburg, Arkansas; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral will be 10:30am, Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the chapel of Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, with Chaplain Nathan Davis officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30am. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
