Buddy Ray BolinI am a Veteran.

July 8, 1937 - January 3, 2026

Buddy Ray Bolin, age 88, was born on July 8, 1937, along with his twin sister, Nina Fay. Buddy departed this life on January 3, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas. Buddy was an active member of the School Avenue Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years. Buddy took this responsibility very seriously and helped the church in many capacities. Buddy was probably best known as the owner of Modern Builders Hardware Store, for 40 years. He worked many hours to make sure everyone had what they needed to fix leaks, breaks and get paint, no matter the day of the week. He frequently met people at the store on Sunday afternoon to help them get what was needed.

Buddy was also an active member of the Lions Club, Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, which he served two terms as President, and most recently a member of the board of Stone Bank. Many of you will remember Buddy has a happy, always laughing, fun loving man. He was always joking around and making people laugh and that also made him an ''Outstanding Citizen'' in 2005 and led the Bean Festival Parade, of course he was in the beloved Ford Bronco, his ''town'' ride. His other interests were fishing on the creeks and on the White River along with being a pilot and flying his airplane to many destinations.

Buddy was also a 1956 graduate of Newark High School where he was valedictorian of his class with a 3.97 GPA, and a basketball player. After graduation he attended Lyon College. After completing 36 credit hours, he took a job in Mountain View with JK Southerland Poultry Company. Buddy also served our country in the Army National Guard from 1957-1965, where he spent one year at Fort Bragg, South Carolina.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Sarah, whom he was devoted to for 65 years. His sons David Bolin (Mary) of Searcy and Stanley Bolin of Mountain View. Their two granddaughters, Brooke Bolin Strasser (Matt) of Russellville and Lauren Bolin, both of Searcy. Two great grandchildren, Maren Strasser and Asher Strasser both of Russellville and one grandson, Chris Flores of Mountain View. Buddy is also survived by his twin sister, Nina Bolin Womack of Batesville and another sister, Lou Etta Winchell, of Lavaca. Sisters in law, Betty Sutton, Sulphur Rock and Mary Bolin of Batesville. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and a lot of friends.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Irene Bolin; brother, Bobby Bolin and his younger twin siblings, Jan Bolin and Van Bolin. What a great gathering they are having now!

We want to thank all the friends that have continued to check on them through the last few months, especially Finis Brewer, Dan Stewart, Dana Woods, Tommy Cleveland, Mike Mason, Mark Armstrong and his beloved doctor, Dr. James Zini.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Paragould Children's Home or to the School Avenue Church of Christ Family Life Center construction costs.

When Buddy first began his business, he said to me, ''Dan, I'm going to fill a need, build a business based on honesty, integrity, and service to my customers and community.'' He did just that. A man to be admired and respected by all.

Mr. Buddy quickly became more than a boss to me. The Bolins are my family and Mr. Buddy sat by my side in one of the most difficult times in my life never leaving once. He ministered to me and I can only hope I minister to others a fraction of the time Mr. Buddy did. We had a bucket of laughs and he also taught me a lot of how a man of God should carry themselves in just his actions. And he kept a salt shaker under his seat Mrs. Sarah…I wanted to tell you but he had me by the short and curlys being my boss but now it's out 😮‍'

Buddy will surely be missed by so many. He always had a kind word and a big smile for everyone. The church on School Ave. was blessed with his leadership for many years. He and Sarah were an important part of the congregation. Sarah, I pray God's peace and comfort for you and the family. I know it means a great deal to you that he was a Christian and you will see him again someday.

Our whole family (June Willis, Sheri, Steve, Michelle, Jerry, Cody and Cade) were all welcomed and entertained buy "Uncle Buddy" every time we came to Mountain View. He would take the boys fishing, and anyone flying. He would take us to town square and then the Pickin' park. We all have fond memories of him.
Love always, Sheri Willis Wainscott
