With many loving memories, Sara Lynne (McKee) Long, born January 18, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to heaven on July 9, 2025, at the age of 77 years. She left behind her husband of 48 years, Ralph M. Long, Jr., a sister, Sondra (McKee) Glidewell (Roger), and a brother, Roy Dale McKee, DVM (Marilyn). Her sister, Rhea (McKee) Glidewell (Hugh, DVM), and her parents, Roy and Kathlyn (Boerger) McKee, preceded her.
Sara and Ralph lived in Mishawaka, Indiana, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Mountain Home, Arkansas. Sara was always ready for a new challenge. Sara explored nature and water activities with her siblings and cousins each summer growing up at her grandparents' cottage. She graduated from Indiana University to become an elementary teacher in Goshen, Indiana, and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Sara and Ralph were both active in judo as black belts, winning a number of awards. In later life, Sara and her husband retired in scenic Mountain Home, Arkansas, enjoying boating and fishing on the many beautiful lakes nearby with their loving dog, Angie.
Sara's burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
A private celebration of life was held on November 23, 2025, at Aldersgate UMC.
