Mitchell Dwayne Shannon Sr., 61, of Joiner, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was born in Tyronza, Arkansas on May 26, 1964, to Billy and Mary Jo Shannon. Mitchell worked as a trucker for 42 years and was a member of the Church of the Living Gospel in Mathews Corner, Mississippi. He was a movie buff who enjoyed working on cars and trucks, there wasn't a vehicle he didn't know how to fix. Mitchell enjoyed to joke around and tell stories so much so his CB handle was ''Mouth of the South''.
He is survived by his son: Mitchell Dwayne Shannon Jr. and his wife Christina Shannon, his significant other: Stacey Richmond, his first wife and mother of his son: Callie James, two daughters, ten grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother: Larry Wiley Jr, sisters: Paula Barnes and Tracy Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife: Cynthia Kay Shannon, brothers: Michael Dewayne Shannon, and his uncle Doug Shannon. A visitation will be held at Roller-Swift Funeral Home located at 2173 S. US Hwy 61, Osceola, Arkansas 72370 on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 10:00 pm to 11:00 am with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am. Committal will be held at Stanfield Baptist Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri.
