Vernia M. Stivers, 86, of England, Arkansas, died Monday, December 22, 2025, at home with family.
Born on February 6, 1939, in Hutchinson Mountain Community of Independence County. She was the daughter of John L. Candler and Myrtle R. Candler.
Survivors include son, William L. Stivers (Carrie), daughter, Rebecca Burrier, (Kenneth), son: Tim Stivers, (Renee), and daughter: Shirley Stivers, (Dennis), Grandkids: Joe, Justin, Dylan, Tyler, Nikki, D.J., Johnathan, Danielle, Jacob, Joseph, and 4 great grandkids, McKenzie, Madison, Ethan, and Asher.
She was preceded in death by her son: Danny J. Stivers, her parents, 2 brothers, Carl James Candler and Ernest Chandler, 2 sisters: Helen St. John and Elsie Jane Pretty, nephew: Bengy Rowlette.
Graveside services will be at 2 P.M., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Palestine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ashburn, D. J. Reed, Dylan Stivers, Tyler Stivers, Justin Stivers, and Johnathan Stivers.
