Lester Claude Gibson of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 97 years old.
Lester was born on March 26, 1928, in Flippin, Arkansas. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Sue (Ott), his parents Sammie and Thema (Smothers), his brothers, and his sisters.
A Korean War veteran, dedicated cattle farmer, and steward of the land, he worked at Folgers Coffee in Houston, Texas for 15 years and then moved his family back to his home in Arkansas where he worked and retired from ''the lab,'' Baxter Healthcare. Lester's proudest achievement was that all five of his children received college degrees, including a PhD and multiple master's degrees.
He is survived by his daughters Paula (Fred) Engel of Berryville, Claudia (Ron) Brigham of Yellville, Linda (Peter) Braccini of San Antonio, Texas, Amy (Michael) Smith of Wildwood, Missouri, son Neal (Jann) Gibson of Flippin, Arkansas, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at Roller-Burns Funeral Home on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Graveside Service will follow at Hurst Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Tyler, Johnny Birrer, Jason Engel, Ray Gibson Jr., Nate Smith, Caleb Gibson and Daniel Leathers.
