Loretta Dixon Maiorano Short, originally from Chester, PA died peacefully at home in Conway, Arkansas after a brief illness; Loretta was 92. She had a passion for service and was a retired ER nurse, specially trained in trauma. She started her career as a clerk at Sacred Heart Hospital; She was a trauma nurse in Salisbury, Md, Orlando, Florida and Jacksonville, NC. She was well respected and loved by the Doctors she worked with.
Loretta was predeceased by her mother, Alma Baker, originally from Chester, PA via Dallas, Texas; she is survived by her daughter, Danielle Maiorno Downing of Conway Arkansas and Son-in-Law Barry Downing; Grand-children Brandon Turner (wife Taylor) Brian Downing (wife Jessie); great grandchildren Lana, Lexi, Barry, and Thomas Downing. Also survived by several nieces and nephews from the Wiemer, Vincent, and Koury families from the East Coast.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter and family. Rest well, Momma.
Cremation services by Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. December 16, 2025. Celebration of life to be announced in the Spring of 2026.
