Elizabeth A. Nabors

of Bryant, AR

December 31, 1935 - December 16, 2025

Elizabeth Ann Nabors, age 89, of Paron, Arkansas, passed peacefully on December 16, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1935, to Carl and Ruby Sowrheaver, both of whom preceded her in death.

Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Dee Nabors, to whom she was married for 53 years; her son, James Harold Nabors; her son-in-law, Roy Chaloner; and her brother, J.C. Sowrheaver.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and servant of the Lord, Elizabeth lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and quiet strength. She served her community faithfully as a teacher and bookkeeper for the Paron Public Schools for more than 31 years, touching countless lives through her commitment to education and service.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Elizabeth was a member of North Fork Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she faithfully served as church clerk for more than 50 years, and as a Kindergarten Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. Her steady presence, attention to detail, and unwavering devotion were a blessing to her church family and community.

Elizabeth found joy in life's simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved crocheting, quilting, reading, traveling, and listening to bluegrass music. Her hands were rarely idle, and many were blessed by the beautiful things she created and the wisdom she shared.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Chaloner; her daughter-in-law, Teri Nabors; her grandchildren, Kevin (Maggie) Chaloner; Kimberly (Jake) Horne; Danielle Moore; Courtney (Anthony) Truelove, and her great grandchildren Cole and Benjamin Chaloner and Jett Horne. She is also survived by her siblings Ouida Jane Ashmore, William F. Sowrheaver, and Ioma Cue Price, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m., at North Fork Missionary Baptist Church in Paron. A graveside burial will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Fork Missionary Baptist Church or The Missionary Baptist Seminary.

Sister Nabors was a foundational, faithful member of our church. She was thoughtful of others and could always be depended on for help and guidance. Her quilting and crocheting skills were greatly appreciated in the community as she freely gifted so many with her creations. She had a witty personality and was beloved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed as she has departed to reunite with her loving husband, Bill, but this special lady's legacy will live on in our hearts and memories. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family.
