Nellie Geneva Teas-Simon

of Mayflower, AR

October 26, 1924 - December 13, 2025

Nellie Geneva ''Grandma'' Moon Teas Simon was born on Sunday, October 26, 1924, in Round Pond (Widener), St. Francis County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Willie Washington Moon and Cassie Luttrell Moon Ramey, and the stepdaughter of Burley Ramey.

Grandma was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, John Austin Teas and Pete Simon; her brothers, Floyd Ramey and Burley Ramey Jr.; her sisters, Nannie Sue Teas, Elsie Lucille Teas, and Maxine Sims; her children, Mary Louise Teas Green, Clarence Austin Teas, and Edward Leon Teas; her sons-in-law, Thomas Green and Aubrey Thomas; and her grandson, Tony Leon Green.

She is survived by her children, Alice Marie Teas Thomas and Bobby Eugene Teas; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; three nephews; and three nieces.

Grandma was known for her beautiful smile and warm side hugs, as well as her unwavering love for her children and family. She loved going to church and truly never met a stranger, she would talk to anyone, anywhere she went. Grandma had a passion for sewing all types of clothing; she learned to make doll clothes as a kid. She also loved cooking, playing games, and camping, particularly when surrounded by family. Grandma's beauty was matched by the flowers that she kept.

Her greatest joy was fishing. Grandma would sit for hours in God's peace and quiet, patiently fishing, often saying, ''Just one more spot.'' Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Northside Apostolic Church in Mayflower, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Toby Davis, Cody Davis, Clayton Davis, Joshua Thomas, Aaron Thomas, and Damon Teas.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Green, Jacob Thomas, Brandon Kratts, and Jackson Ross.
