Chia Ying Sheng, otherwise known as CY, was born on November 14, 1956 in Taipei, Taiwan and passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy defined by craftsmanship, creativity and a deep devotion to the art of jewelry making.
After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from the Lee Ming Institute of Technology, he traveled to the United States at the age of 23. He began in California where he completed the Gemological Institute of America's Jewelry Arts Resident Program and went on to work for them in 1983. His career later took him to Tennessee, where he worked on a pearl farm. Then he made his way to Arkansas where he continued to build his career.
For the last 15 years CY worked for Sissy's Log Cabin and was a master jeweler for almost 50 years. His true passion was in designing unique pieces. CY's work was never just jewelry, it was art. Those who knew him will remember him not only for his talent but his character. He was a loyal friend, supportive co-worker and fun ''uncle''.
In honor of his lifelong passion for gemology and jewelry arts, donations may be made in his memory to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in his memory.
His legacy lives on in the countless pieces he created and in the many lives he touched along the way.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

I will miss you my friend!
