Carole Evans

of Clinton, AR

August 14, 1950 - December 1, 2025

Marca Carole Fudge Evans, 75, of Clinton, completed her earthly journey on December 1, 2025, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's dementia.

Carole was born on August 14, 1950, to Robert and Emogene Fudge in Batesville, Arkansas. She grew up enjoying weekends and summers with cousins in Evening Shade and Cave City. After graduating from Searcy High School in 1968, she attended the State College of Arkansas, now UCA. She received a BSE in elementary education in 1972 and a MSE in 1981. Carole taught three generations during her 40-year teaching career, serving both the Shirley and Clinton School systems. She was a witty and passionate advocate for literacy. Carole will be missed and remembered by the many lives that she has touched.

She married her sweetheart, Joe Don Evans, on April 29, 1972, and they were privileged to have 40 years of marriage. One of her greatest honors was supporting him as a National Guard wife. Two precious children were born to this union: Rhonda Michelle and Robert Carroll. In 2003, she became Meme to her only grandson, Dylan Cole.

Carole was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Meme, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Evans, grandson, Dylan Evans (Allison), sister, Cathy Robertson (Jim), sisters-in-law; Jeannie Moore (Tracy), Marsha Evans, brothers-in-law; Jim Evans (Jayne), John Evans (Barbara), Jack Evans (Shon), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carole was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe, her son, Robert, her parents, Robert and Emogene Fudge, parents-in-law, Carroll B. and Frances Evans, and brother-in-law, Jerry Evans.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Teresa Goodwin for over four years of kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Van Buren County Literacy Council, PO Box 897, Clinton, Arkansas 72031, the Van Buren County Library, 289 Factory Road, Clinton, Arkansas 72031, or a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, December 5th at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Carole's life at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6th at the Clinton First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Evans Mountain Cemetery following the service.
