Chris Anne Marie Swanson, 74, of Perryville, Arkansas, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Conway, Arkansas, surrounded by the family she loved more than anything in this world. Born on October 28, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, Chris lived a life defined by strength, love, humor, and an unwavering spirit.
Chris was a proud mother of four: Paul Hussey of Little Rock; Jennifer Welter (Paul) of Conway; John Hoffmann of Conway; and Joseph Swanson (Brittney) of Perryville. She was a devoted grandmother to seven-Alicia Hussey of Conway; Austin, Jacob, and Lukas Welter of Conway; Kadyn Smith of Conway; and Skylan and Silas Iverson of Perryville. She also delighted in her two great-grandchildren, Stella and Elijah Welter of Conway. To Chris, her family was her greatest accomplishment. No matter how many titles she held in life, ''Mom'' and ''Granny'' were the ones she treasured most.
Chris offered compassion freely, loved fiercely, and touched countless lives with her warmth and loyalty. Her home and yard were always filled with vibrant plants, blooming flowers, and animals she adored. A true free spirit-wild at heart, deeply loving, and unapologetically herself-Chris welcomed everyone with open arms and loved with her whole heart.
She was tough, feisty, and always fair. Beneath her fire was a heart of pure gold. She faced life's challenges head-on, with grit and courage, and she carried a personality impossible to forget. Her memory, her stories, and her presence left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and every life she touched. Chris will be remembered for her tenacity, her humor, her fierce independence, and the love she gave without limits.
Chris' spirit will continue to bloom in the gardens she tended, the hearts she filled, and the family she leaves behind.
Services will be held on Friday November 28, 2025 starting at 3pm with a rosary starting one hour prior to the funeral mass at St. Joe Catholic Church.
