Kathryn Prislovsky

of Stuttgart, AR

March 1, 1957 - November 15, 2025

Kathryn Lynn Brannum Prislovsky, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Kathy was born March 1, 1957 in Osceola to Carl and Mildred Brannum. A 1975 graduate of Jonesboro High School, Kathy earned a degree in physics from Arkansas State University, which she put to good use as one of Stuttgart's most beloved educators. She devoted three decades of her life to educating Stuttgart's students as a tutor and science and STEM teacher with the Stuttgart School District and St. John's Lutheran School. While she loved her time as an educator, her favorite title was Nana.
She was a devoted member of the Stuttgart Church of Christ and a proud sister in the Epsilon Delta chapter of the Phi Mu sorority.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Sam Brannum.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gene Prislovsky; daughters Amanda Prislovsky, of West Memphis, and Sarah (David) Hendrix of Stuttgart; son Sam (Stephanie) Prislovsky, of Stuttgart; grandchildren Boone and Lane Prislovsky; brother-in-law Frank (Donna) Prislovsky; sisters-in-law Kathy Edwards, Linda (Carroll) Calvert, and Karen Prislovsky and Lisa Brannum; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, at the Slovak Lutheran Cemetery (1/4 mile west of 5788 Hwy 86 W; follow the flamingos!). A Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday at the St. John's Lutheran School gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stuttgart Church of Christ, St. John's Lutheran School, the Slovak Lutheran Cemetery (c/o Steve Chlapecka, PO Box 100, Hazen, AR 72064), or the organization of your choice.
The family would like to thank Kathy Edwards, Cathy Prislovsky, Donna Prislovsky, Teresa Hancock, the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice, Brandyn and Brandi England and the staff of Buerkle Drug Co., and the team at MD Anderson Cancer Center for their outstanding care.
