On this day, November 5,2025, Lois Edith (Downs) Prestidge, matriarch and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, provider, and best of the greatest generation, left this world at the age of 97. She was born on July 10, 1928, in Lake City, AR, to Orla and Willie Lee (Winters) Downs. Lois attended Refuge Church in Jonesboro. She worked at General Electric before retiring after more than 30 years of service.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Calvin Prestidge, her parents, and brothers Wayne Downs and Curt Downs.

Those left to cherish the wonderful memories of Lois include her daughter, Brenda Ford; grandchildren Brad (Melissa) Ford and Robyn (Jorge) Ford de Jaramillo; great-grandchildren Brittany (Drew) McCalla, Alec Ford, Zoe Tyler, and Bennett Ford; great-great-grandchild Colbie Grace McCalla; and many more friends, family, and loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brad Ford, Alec Ford, Bennett Ford, Keith Downs, Kyle Downs, Larry Earnhart, and Mark Counts.
