Shirley Ann Querry

of Conway, AR

May 26, 1944 - October 28, 2025

Shirley Ann Querry, 81, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, October 28, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1944 in Hunter, Arkansas to Robert Pete and Hazel Young.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Marion Odell Martin Sr. (d. 2006) and son, Robert Martin, as well as her husband of 17 years, Calvin H. Querry (d. 2025). She will also be welcomed into heaven by four of her siblings, Robert LeRoy (Bobby) Young, Orville Jefferson (Billy) Young, Donny Ray Young and James Redell (Bowdy) Young.

Shirley's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her nurturing nature was evident in her care for her children, her nursing career and her hospitable care for multiple family members throughout her life. She instilled her strong values and religious beliefs in her family. It is certain that her most important legacy will be her faith and family.

Shirley is survived by her children, Donna (Johnny) Merriman, Marion Odell (Debbie) Martin, Jr., Cathy Southard, Becky (Tad) Boice and her sisters, Peggy Ann Norwood and Anita Kay (Lance) Mize and many grand and great grandchildren with a host of family and friends.

There are enough words to express how sorry I am for the loss of this precious Lady. She was more like a second Mother to Me in My Younger years. She spent so much time working with the Youth in the small Augusta Church of God. I pray God comfort Her Family during this very trying time. It is a great blessing to know She along with My Mother Gwen are rejoicing with Jesus and so many more that went on before them. I know She is so happy to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Love you so much Grandma. Thank you for being such a loving, godly woman who taught us all that faith and family are most important. We will never forget the love you shared and the memories we made together. Until we meet again, enjoy dancing with Jesus.

I'm so sorry to hear about Shirley. I should have kept in touch. Growing up and spending time at their house was the best time of my childhood. God welcomes her into his arms. You are blessed Shirley. Praying for the family
