Gary Neal Varnell, Sr., 64, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Paris. He was born on July 19, 1961 in Ozark, Arkansas to his parents, Russell Varnell and Bessie Mae Daniels.
Gary was a United States Army Veteran and a retired carpenter. He loved to work on and tinker with cars and attended Harmony Assembly of God in Paris.
He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Varnell; his wife, Kathiron Varnell; his brother, Russell Varnell Jr. and his granddaughter, Talia Jordan.
He is survived by his mother, Bessie Mae Daniels of Rogers; his daughters, Amber Corley of Paris, Layla Varnell and spouse, Timothy Jordan of Paris, Michelle Miller and husband, Jessie of Etna and Valerie Cunningham and husband, John of Irving, Texas; his sons, Gary Varnell Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael Varnell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kevin Jones of Ozark and Cory Jones and wife, Angel of Ozark; his sister, Brenda Chishulm and husband, Harold of Tuttle, Oklahoma; his brothers, Ronnie Varnell and wife, Edna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tommy Varnell and wife, Crystal of Paris and Cliff Varnell of Tuttle, Oklahoma; his half brother, Jerry Lee Ayers of Rogers, Arkansas and numerous grandchildren and extended family members.
There will be a memorial service held at Harmony Assembly of God in Paris in the coming days. Please check back for updates. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

My thoughts & prayers are with you all... Gary was a big part of my childhood. He was my Dad's best friend & "Uncle " Gary to us kids. He helped carry my grandpa to his final resting place. He wanted to do the same for my Daddy, but he was not physically able to. We will miss you. Love ya Uncle Gary!

Gary was such an amazing person and he will be missed beyond measure. My family's heart goes out to his. They have been through so much this year. I have no doubt he will be watching over everyone. We love you. Rest in Peace Gary. Fly high!

I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing , I've known Gary for 45 years, he was in the army with my late husband Rick , they were stationed in Germany together. He was a good friend to both of us. Ours kids played with Gary Neal and Michael when they were all young , they lived 2 house's down from us . Prayers for his kids & Tommy & his whole family.
