William "Walt" Walton Krisell

of Stuttgart, AR

August 4, 1929 - October 24, 2025

Walton Krisell was born August 4, 1929, to David Lindsey Krisell and Willie Franklin Nolan Krisell of England, Arkansas. The family had farmland in Lonoke County, and he grew up working the land with his family in his younger years. He attended the Humphrey School System; at graduation he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
On October 1, 1949, he married Ella Mae Cox, the love of his life for 76 years. They made a life in Humphrey, Arkansas and Stuttgart, Arkansas with their three sons. They supported their sons in all school and community activities.
Walton and Ella Mae were avid Razorback fans for over 50 years. They followed the football and basketball teams across the South as season ticket holders inviting family and friends to join in the fun for games and tournaments. They continued to support the teams by tuning into every televised game possible.
Walton enjoyed the hunt for a good antique or collectable item and made a host of friends in his pursuit of the next ''big find''.
Walton was known in the water well industry for his 70 plus years of experience and knowledge. He was consulted by many farmers and water well specialists for irrigation designs and problems. His vast knowledge and skills have provided water to the farming industry in Arkansas and beyond, for center pivot systems, deep wells, and complete farm irrigation systems as well as many city systems. He began his career with Layne Arkansas in Stuttgart as a ''Rough Neck'' progressing through the ranks to sales and consulting. He went on to create Krisell Machine and Supply Co. and Walt Krisell and Sons, and Walt Krisell companies serving the farming industry of the Grand Prairie from top to bottom. Walton retired from C & B Drilling in 2024 at the age of 94. He loved what he did, and he loved the people he served. His last job working in the field was in 2024 for Heien LLLP, his daughter in law, Lee Ann and her family. He wanted to make sure the new well ''was done right''. He stayed on site until the job was completed to his specifications. His skill, knowledge and insight will be missed in the water well community as he was always available to help on any issue.
Walton's greatest passion was sharing the Word of God with others. Walton traveled to many foreign countries and exotic places on mission trips. There the teams aided in building churches, drilling small village water wells, providing medical help and spreading the love of Jesus to many people in need. He kept in touch with some of the people by mail and sponsored needy children in some of the villages.
Walton and Ella Mae have been lifelong active members of the Humphrey Baptist Church. There they taught Sunday School, Bible School, shepherded new members, prepared countless meals and served at every level and committee throughout their lifetime. Walton served as a deacon for many years guiding the growth and finances of the church, sharing his knowledge with all members. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Humphrey Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 16, Humphrey, Arkansas 72073. Nothing would please Walton more than seeing the church grow and flourish.
After a year of multiple heart and health issues, Walton quietly slipped from his family into the arms of God on the evening of October 24, at Crestpark Nursing Home, surrounded by his wife and sons. Walton is preceded in death by his son Wayne Krisell. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Ella Mae Krisell, his sons, Ronnie Krisell (Lee Ann) of Stuttgart; Jimmy Krisell of Stuttgart; and Marty Brown (Jan) of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Kristian Krisell Dabbs (Trent) of Stuttgart; Taylor Burton (Colton) of Benton; Amanda Crawford (Daniel) of Morrilton; Jordan L. Krisell of Stuttgart, seven great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services will be held, October 29, 2025, at Humphrey Baptist Church, Humphrey, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with the service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Pastor Lee C. Crosson will officiate, with Bruce Dabbs giving the eulogy and nephew, Robbie Neal Jackson providing the piano music and presiding at graveside.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Morgan and his nursing staff, Dr Dan Daniels and his nursing staff, Dr Kirk Coker; the Crestpark Nursing Home Staff, nurses, caregivers and Hospice team, Baptist Medical Clinic staff, Baptist Medical Hospital Staff and E.R. team. Their kindness, care, and support have made this journey easier for Walton and our family.
Suggested memorials are to the Humphrey Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 16, Humphrey, Arkansas 72073 or charity of one's choice.

Sorry for your loss. From what I knew of Walt, He was an extremely kind and gentle soul. He cared about the people around him. I didn't meet him until he was any his 90's but he was sharp as a tack.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Walton's passing. Enjoyed going on mission trip to Hati with him. I remember him carrying a small bag of what I thought were meds and personal effects on the plane. Turns out bag was full of Arkansas tomato plants for the pastor there in Hati to plant in his garden. Prayers for Aunt Ella Mae and the family. Will miss him, but will see him soon in heaven.

Gary, Tony and I are so sorry for your loss. What a great Christian Uncle we have had the honor of having in our lives. Sharing Gods word was an example that Uncle Walton set before his family. He will be missed. We were so blessed to have visited with him and Aunt EllaMae in June and by phone. Thank you Uncle Walton for your precious love and memories.

So sorry to see that Walton has passed. I have fond memories of the short time we lived next door and visiting with him about Razorback sports. Walton was fun to be around and always had something interesting to discuss. Praying for you all in your time of grief.
