Elwanda Betty Ruth Loosey

of Calico Rock, AR

January 12, 1937 - October 22, 2025

Elwanda Betty Ruth Loosey, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Joe and Lavita Gray and lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service to others.

Elwanda was married to the love of her life, James Edward Loosey, for 45 beautiful years. Together, they built a life centered on love, strength, and dedication to their family.

A faithful member of the Assembly Church of God, Elwanda lived her life guided by compassion and kindness. She found great joy in simple pleasures-fishing, nurturing those she loved, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her warm spirit and unwavering support made her a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her children Jackie, Noel, Janda, and Betty; her sisters, Maxine and Evie; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Elwanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Edward, parents, one son James and two daughters Darlene and Cynthia and many brothers and sisters who welcomed her home.

Her legacy of love, strength, and care lives on in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.


Pallbearers honored to carry Elwanda to her final resting place include Logan and Will Best, Hunter and Wayne Young, William Nozar and Dalton Sweat

There will be a grave side service for Elwanda on October 28th at 1pm at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, AR.
