Janet F. Cardwell

of Midway, AR

June 18, 1945 - October 18, 2025

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Janet F. Cardwell, age 80, of Midway, AR are at Roller Funeral Home. Mrs. Janet went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised with good Southern values, Janet was a woman of strength, faith, and bottomless love. She was the kind of lady who made everyone feel like kin whether you'd known her five minutes or fifty years. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was the kind that made you feel right at home.

Janet had a lifelong love for her family, her garden, and perhaps most uniquely her turtles. To say she loved turtles would be an understatement. If you were a turtle and lucky enough to find your way to Janet, you were safe forever. Her backyard was a haven for them, and her home was a sanctuary for all creatures, big or small, shelled or not.

She was the proud daughter of the late J.W. Hobbs and Julia Krystkiewicz., and is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved grandson, Parker Keenan, great-grandson, Dakota Bailey. She is survived by her dear brother, John Hobbs, who continues to carry forward the family's legacy.
Janet leaves behind her loving husband, Tom and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who poured her heart into her children: Michael Wallrath (wife Angelina Wallrath), Brian Wallrath (wife Christina Cimrhanzel-Wallrath), Jennifer Morris (née Wallrath), Jimmy Cardwell, and Trisha Keenan.

Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Sabrina Garza (husband Ruben), Kayla Billings (husband Tristan), Jasmine Purviance (husband Joshua), Joshua Bassett, Mallorie Bailey, Abigail Wallrath, Jaxson Morris, Emma Wallrath, Laila Garza, Luke Garza, Cassie Jones (husband Zach), Jessica Cardwell, Bethany Denney (husband Jacob), Hannah Keenan, and Grace Keenan.

Janet also leaves behind a joyful gathering of great-grandchildren who adored her deeply: Percy Billings, David Purviance, Charli Billings, Ivy Billings, Luke Purviance, Autumn Bailey, Adrian, Saria, Lilly, Dustin, Connor, and Bellamy.

Janet's life was marked by service and strength. A dual cancer survivor breast and lung she never gave up, never slowed down, and truly earned her family's nickname: ''The Energizer Bunny.'' She was the matriarch of her family and a role model to all who knew her â€" leading with compassion, courage, and grace in every season of life.

She was deeply involved in her community, a former member of BPW (where she was honored as Woman of the Year), a proud Avon Representative, a member of the Polish-American Club and National Association of Realtors, and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was also a faithful servant in her church community, embodying the hands and feet of Christ in all she did.

She loved hummingbirds, the smell of fresh flowers from her garden, and nothing made her happier than cooking up something special in the kitchen with her homemade recipes. She could grow a tomato from concrete and had a pie recipe that could fix a broken heart.
Pallbearers honored to carry Janet to her final resting place include: Michael Wallrath, Jaxson Morris, Joshua Bassett, Ricky Bassett, Joshua Purviance, and Tristan Billings.

Janet's presence was a gift. Her love strong and steady is the thread that will continue to bind her family together. She was a true Southern lady, in every sense of the word: sweet, strong, full of grace, and stubborn when she needed to be. We will miss her terribly, love her always, and strive to live as she taught us â€" with faith, kindness, and just a little bit of sass.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a flower in her honor, care for a turtle, or simply be kind as Janet always was.

Visitation will be held at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, October 23rd from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 23rd beginning at 11:00 am with a private burial to follow.
